Filter features

Pleated cartridge

A large pleated surface captures more sediment and runs far longer between changes than a spun filter.

High-flow design

Handles whole-home demand up to 25 GPM, so pressure stays strong when several fixtures run at once.

Built to last

Brass port inserts, a steel bracket, and a high-strength sump stand up to years of service.

Choose your micron

Select from 0.5 to 20 micron to match your water, from fine silt capture to maximum flow.

Easy to service

Twist off the sump with the included wrench and change the cartridge in about five minutes.

Non-electric

No power and no pressure-relief button to fail, ideal ahead of a softener or hybrid system.

Overview

About this system

The 360 Ultra Filter 4.5x20 is a heavy-duty sediment pre-filter for well water and whole-home protection. It sits ahead of your softener or hybrid system and captures sand, silt, rust, and sediment before they reach your downstream media, so your equipment lasts longer and your water runs clearer.

Installed and Serviced by Our Team

Our local team mounts the heavy-gauge bracket, connects the 1 inch ports, and seals the housing at startup. Installation is quoted after your water analysis. There is no pressure-relief button to fail over time. To service, close the inlet, open a downstream faucet to relieve pressure, then use the included wrench to twist off the sump.

Pairs Well With

Sediment pre-filtration is the first stage of a clean whole-home setup.

  • 360 Dual-Stage Ultra Cartridge System. Sediment plus carbon in one housing, adding chlorine, taste, and odor reduction downstream.
  • 360 Backwashing Carbon Filter. Whole-home chlorine and chloramine reduction with no cartridges to change.
  • 360 SmartTech Water Softener. Pair clean sediment capture with true whole-home softening to stop scale for good.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the temperature rating for the water or the surrounding air?

It is primarily the water temperature flowing through the housing and cartridge, which is the fluid temperature rating.

Can it handle about 150 degrees F ambient in a hot garage?

The cartridges are rated for 40 to 125 degrees F water, and an environment reaching about 150 degrees F ambient exceeds that rating. Even on cold water only, we cannot recommend installing it somewhere that hot unless it is placed in a cooler, temperature-controlled location.

What are the replacement cartridges for the 4.5x20?

The replacements are 222-seal, Magna-style pleated polyester cartridges. Micron options and SKUs:

  • 0.5 micron: 361-USP-MF-4520-0.5-222
  • 1 micron: 361-USP-MF-4520-01-222
  • 5 micron: 361-USP-MF-4520-05-222
  • 20 micron: 361-USP-MF-4520-20-222
How long does it last compared to a standard 10x4.5 25-micron filter?

Standard 10x4.5 25-micron filters often last about 30 days, while the pleated polyester media here can last six months or more, depending on sediment load and water usage. Adding a coarse spin-down pre-filter upstream can extend it even further.

Is a 20-micron filter okay for sediment?

Yes. A 20-micron cartridge works well for larger sediment such as sand and silt. For finer sediment, choose a 5, 1, or 0.5 micron cartridge.
