About this system
The Bluetooth Tannin Softener is built to reduce tannins and the tea-colored tint they leave in water. Professional-grade parts and an industry-leading anion resin capture organic color, so water pours clear, odorless, and refreshing.
How it works
Tannin-selective resin that captures organic color
Tannins are fermented organic material created as vegetation breaks down. They give water a tea-like discoloration along with a musty odor and a tangy aftertaste, and they can permanently stain dinnerware and porcelain fixtures. This system uses a dedicated anion resin to capture tannins and leave water clear, then recharges the bed on a salt brine cycle from the included brine tank so it keeps working over time. It regenerates with salt but does not soften general hardness, and it performs best on softened water, so on supplies above 5 gpg hardness we recommend installing it after a water softener for proper performance and longer resin life. A Bluetooth control valve sets time of day, regeneration, and backwash frequency from the free companion app.

Frequently asked questions
Our soft well water is not as dark yellow as your pictures. Could it still have tannins?
Yes. Our photos show a severe example, but tannins range from a light straw tint to a darker tea color depending on level and water chemistry, so lighter water can still carry them.
Because yellow color can also come from iron or other organics, we recommend confirming tannins are the cause before buying. Send us a recent water test and we will help verify the system is right for your water. Since your water is already softened, that is ideal, as tannin resin performs best after hardness has been removed.
